Many of the historic coins once issued for circulation use in the United States in the early 20th century live on today through designs that are still replicated by countless mints. The United States Mint itself uses many of these beautiful designs on its annual bullion collections, with private mints like SilverTowne also reviving the images on various forms of bullion. Right now, you can purchase 5 oz Silver 2015 Buffalo Rounds online at Provident Metals.
With your purchase of the 5 oz Silver 2015 Buffalo Round in this listing, you receive a silver round that is in brand-new condition from the mint. The rounds in this series are individually packaged with protective plastic flips. SilverTowne issues the Buffalo Round on an annual basis with a date mark included on the obverse field of each round.
On the obverse side of the 5 oz Silver 2015 Buffalo Round is a depiction of a stoic indigenous figure. This Native American figure is shown in right-profile relief with braided hair and feathers woven in at the top of his head. The word Liberty is inscribed along the right rocker from the brow of the figure to the bridge of his nose. A date mark of 2015 is depicted down at the shoulder of the figure.
The reverse face of 5 oz Silver 2015 Buffalo Rounds includes an image of the American bison. The bison, known to most in America as the buffalo, is the largest living land mammal in North America. It once grazed wildlands throughout the Central United States, the Upper Midwest, and the Western Plains. Its native range includes large portions of southern and central Canada as well. Inscriptions on this face of the round read United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, and 5 Troy oz .999 Fine Silver.
James Earle Fraser created the iconic images found on this silver round back in 1913. His designs were chosen by the administration of President William Howard Taft to grace the US nickel. It remained on the nickel until 1938 and is exceptionally popular with modern investors. The US Mint uses the design on its American Buffalo Gold bullion coin, while mints like SilverTowne issue the design on silver rounds and silver bars of varying weights.
