Most religions and mythological beliefs have characters of both good and evil. The Norse God Series from Anonymous Mint features artwork pieces by Howard David Johnson that depict various gods and goddesses. The 5 oz Silver Antique Norse God Series Loki Round is now available from Provident Metals.
The Norse God Series is made up of five design releases dedicated to Norse gods and goddessLoki, Thor, Freya, Hel, and Odin. Each design is available in 1 oz and 5 oz weight options. Each round in the series exhibits mirrored, proof elements with an antique finish that provides warmth and depth to the details of the round.
The 5 oz Silver Antique Norse God Series Loki Round features the design of Loki, God of Mischief. He misleads other gods with his shapeshifting abilities. In Norse mythology, Loki is the father of Hel, guardian of the underworld.
On the obverse of the 5 oz Silver Antique Norse God Series Loki Round is the image of Loki depicted as a handsome and graceful figure. Loki wears armor while holding staff in his right arm. Lokis shapeshifting abilities helped him hide from other gods after he killed Balder, the God of Light. The fish on the design is an example of an animal he would shapeshift into. Engravings on the obverse include Loki and God of Mischief.
Each round features the image of the Valkyrie on the reverse. The Valkyrie was Odins selected group of warrior maidens who were known as Choosers of the Slain. The Valkyrie were believed to fly above battlefields to choose who would survive and who would not. On the reverse, you will also find Choosers of the Slain, Valkyrie, and 1 Ounce .999 Fine Silver engravings.
Anonymous Mint produces the Norse God Series with coin creator Julie Lindquist. Howard David Johnsons artwork is the inspiration for the collection. Sculptor Luigi Badia created the blanks for this series based on the Norse god art. Osborne Precious Metals oversees the striking of each round in the Norse God series.
