The silver rounds in this collection are packaged inside of protective plastic capsules and come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity from the mint. That COA number matches the individual serial number found on the edge of the silver round.

Obverse

The obverse of the 5 oz Silver Proof Silverbug Tree Fairy Rounds includes a depiction of Ariel the Tree Fairy. She is pictured fluttering in front of an old, oaken tree with a mans face as she holds out a flower in front of the trees face. Inscriptions include 2017 and In Silver We Trust, the latter being the motto of the Silverbugs.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the 5 oz Silver Proof Silverbug Tree Fairy Round is a depiction of the Scarab beetle. This design is used on all versions and design releases in the Silverbugs Silver Fairy Series. It features a stylized Scarab beetle in the center with ornate wings. The beetle has a circle above its head with Ag inside of it. Other inscriptions include Five Troy Ounce and For the Silverbug Community.

History

The Silver Fairy Series of silver rounds debuted in 2014 with the Ariana the Silver Fairy design. Other previous issues in the series include Alyx and versions of each release include proof, antique, and reverse proof rounds. The proof rounds such as these 5 oz silver rounds have frosted designs and mirrored fields. The Tree Fairy design on these rounds was inspired by Shakespeares The Tempest and the fairy design on this round represents freedom and forgiveness.
