Arguably one of the greatest Liberty designs ever to grace American currency was the Walking Liberty design. Used on the US half dollar from 1916 to 1947, Walking Liberty was popular in circulation, coveted by collectors after production ended, and revived by the United States Mint in 1986 for the American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin Series. Today, it is one of the most replicated designs from private American mints as well. Provident Metals now has 5 oz Silver Walking Liberty Bars available to you for purchase online.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with a sealed sleeve, sealed sheet of 20 bars, or box of 100 bars!
  • Beautiful replication of the Walking Liberty design!
  • Contains 5 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Obverse field offers a depiction of Walking Liberty on an inset silver round.
  • Impressive visual contrast between design elements and background fields.
  • Privately minted in the United States of America.

When you purchase these 5 oz Silver Walking Liberty Bars, Provident Metals has the specimens available individually or in bulk. All individual bars will ship inside of a sealed sleeve. For multiples, you will receive either a sealed sheet of 20 bars or a box of 100 bars. The box contains five sealed sheets of 20 bars for a total of 500 Troy oz of .999 pure silver. All bars are available in brand-new condition.

Obverse

The obverse face of the 5 oz Silver Walking Liberty Bars offers an image of the Walking Liberty Round from the Great American Mint. The round is inset in the design of the 5 oz silver bar with the image of Liberty walking left toward the sun as it crests a mountain. Liberty has her right hand outstretched toward the sun as she carries branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. The American flag swoops around her shoulders in the design.

For the reverse field, the 5 oz Silver Walking Liberty Bars offer a repeating design that identifies the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar. All bars have impressive visual contrast between the design elements and background fields.

History

Adolph A. Weinman designed the Walking Liberty image in 1916 and submitted it to the United States Mint for consideration as a possible replacement for Barber Coinage coins. It was chosen for the US half dollar and struck on that coin until 1947. Weinmans design is currently the obverse face of the American Eagle Silver bullion coin series and features on countless other silver bars, silver rounds, and copper rounds from private mints such as the Great American Mint.
