For two years in the late 1940s, the Mexican Mint released a new series of silver coins in circulation. These 90% silver pieces were produced with an effigy of Cuauhtemoc, the historic leader of the Aztec Empire. These coins were produced with more than 31 million pieces in just two years and are a unique piece suitable for any investor. Provident Metals now has 5 Pesos Mexican Cuauhtemoc Silver Coins available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase one of these 5 Pesos Mexican Cuauhtemoc Silver Coins at Provident Metals, the item you receive comes in either Extremely Fine or About Uncirculated condition. These types of coins have nearly identical visual elements, with both exhibiting wear and tear only on the highest points. The level of wear and tear is lighter on the AU coins compared to the XF coins. While AU coins have medium-to-full mint luster remaining, XF coins are more likely to showcase only traces of the original mint luster. Date marks in this series are limited to only 1947 and 1948.
Provident Metals selects coins in this listing at random only after your payment has been processed. We cannot guarantee the specific date mark or condition of the coin you receive. If you purchase several coins, please remember that you can receive coins with the same dates and conditions.
Obverse

Inscriptions include Estados Unidos Mexicanos and the coin comes with a notched edge along the border of the design field.
Reverse
For the reverse field of the 5 Pesos Mexican Cuauhtemoc Silver Coins, the mint features an artistic portrait of Cuauhtemoc. The left-profile bust captures him wearing regal, ceremonial pieces and comes with inscriptions of Cinco Pesos, Ley .900, the MO mint mark of the Mexican Mint, 30 Gramos, and a date mark of either 1947 or 1948.
