Introduced in 1964, the JFK Half Dollar was quickly introduced following the assassination of the 35th President of the United States of America. Just over two months after the assassination of JFK, dies were approved for the design of the new US half dollar. Four months after his assassination, the new JFK Half Dollar was in production and distributed into circulation. Still available today, the modern cupro-nickel coin is an ideal target for enhancement in affordable coin collections. Today, you have the opportunity to get 9/11 20th Anniversary JFK Half Dollars online from Provident Metals.

Outside of the ring of stars around the seal are inscriptions of United States of America and Half Dollar.
The JFK Half Dollar was designed and released quickly by the US Mint as a result of design dies already available to it. Gilroy Roberts, then the 9th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, and Frank Gasparro, then the Assistant Chief Engraver and future 10th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, created the images for the obverse and reverse. The duo had created the design dies eventually used for the JFK Half Dollar in 1962 for two separate Presidential Medal series releases.
These 9/11 20th Anniversary JFK Half Dollars are available with protective capsules and a Certificate of Authenticity. The coins come with beautiful visuals on the obverse that have been created with precise applications of colorization that create a new design visual.
