History

The American Buffalo Gold Tribute Coin features the iconic designs introduced by the United States Mint back in 1913 when the US nickel received a design makeover. James Earle Fraser developed the design and it was produced from 1913 to 1938. In 2006, the US Mint revived it on the American Buffalo Gold bullion coin. These American Buffalo Gold Tribute Coins replicate those same designs at a much more affordable price and are not legal tender coins.
