Obverse
On the obverse side of every American Eagle Gold Coin, you will see the image of Lady Liberty. This image was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design was used on the $20 Gold Double Eagle coins from 1907 until 1933. In the image, you will see Lady Liberty as she walks away from the capital to lead the country into the future.
Reverse
The reverse image of each coin showcases a family of bald eagles. One eagle is flying toward the nest as another shelters a hatchling. The image of the eagles was created by Miley Busiek in 1986.
History
Bullion American Eagle Gold Coins are incredibly popular. The 1/10 oz coins are incredibly popular due to the fact that they tend to be more budget-friendly. In fact, the 1999 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle has the largest mintage figure to-date with 2,750,388 sold. Today, mintage figures are lower, but these coins are still incredibly popular, selling more than 900,000 coins per year.
