Reverse

On the reverse side of the American Eagle Platinum Coin is the image of an American bald eagle. Known simply as the eagle flying over the nation, the design shows an American bald eagle with its wings spread entirely to its sides as it glides over the nation with the sun rising on the horizon in the background field.

History

American Eagle 1/10 oz Platinum Coins were among the best-sellers in the American Eagle Platinum Series. The coin set the second-highest mintage in the series with 70,250 coins sold in 1997. The only higher mintage overall was the 1998 1 oz bullion coin with 133,002 coins sold.
