The American Eagle Gold Coin is available from the United States Mint every year. Bullion coins in the American Eagle Series are available each year under a federal mandate in the United States that requires the US Mint to strike the coins to meet demand. Today, you have the chance to get American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins in near-perfect condition online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The American Gold Eagle coins feature 22-karat gold content. This means each coin has 91.67% gold content with a balance of 5.33% copper and 3% silver to create a durable gold bullion coin. The American Gold Eagle debuted in 1986 and was the first gold coin the US Mint had issued since 1933 and the purest gold coin it had issued since 1834.
Obverse
Liberty is shown on the obverse of all American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins. The image featured here shows Liberty walking toward the viewer with her hair flowing freely in the breeze as her right hand holds up a large torch to the light the way and her left hand clutching an olive branch of peace. The background includes rays of sunshine around her figure and 50 stars in a ring around the design element.
Reverse
American bald eagles are featured on the reverse side of American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins. Exclusive to the American Eagle Gold Series, this design from Miley Busiek depicts an entire family of American bald eagles in and around the nest. The female guards a young hatchling in the nest, while a male eagle flies overhead with an olive branch in its talons.
History
American Eagle Gold Bullion coins from the United States Mint are the only American Eagle bullion coins still available in more than one weight. The American Eagle Gold Coin features 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins. The 1 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins are the most popular by mintage, while the 1/2 oz and 1/4 oz coins typically have the lowest mintages.
Ordering
These American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins have Mint State 69 certifications. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws.
