The American Palladium Eagle is the latest addition to the prestigious American Eagle bullion series from the United States Mint. Although proposed in 2010, it wasnt until 2017 that the first 1 oz Palladium Eagle coin was issued. Consistent with the series, it features a well-known Liberty design and an American bald eagle. Provident Metals now offers American Eagle 1 oz Palladium Coins from various years of issue.
Highlights:
These American Eagle 1 oz Palladium Coins are available with protective plastic flips or presentation packaging, based on their type and condition. The coins are offered at random with no guarantee on type (BU, Proof, etc.) or condition. Coins are selected after your payment clears, and you might receive coins from the same year with the same type and condition.
Obverse
The obverse of the American Eagle Palladium Coin features Winged Liberty, a design created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916. This left-profile image shows Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap. Originally used on the US Dime, this design became known as the Mercury Dime due to Libertys resemblance to the Roman deity Mercury. Inscriptions on this side include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, Weinman’s AW signature mark, and the date.
Reverse
On the reverse, the Eagle 1 oz Palladium Coin depicts an American bald eagle, also designed by Weinman. Introduced in 1907 on the American Institute of Architects gold medal, this design shows the eagle with wings raised and clutching a laurel branch. The inscriptions on this side read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA $25, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1 OZ. PD 9995 FINE.
History
The American Palladium Eagle is available only in 1 oz of .9995 palladium. The series includes various types like BU coins from 2017 and 2021, Proof coins from 2018 and 2021, Reverse Proof coins from 2019 and 2022, and a Burnished Coin from 2020.
