The obverse features the face of a Swiss timepiece against a background of global meridian lines. A 12-hour clock cycle is inscribed in Roman numerals along the outer border, with four smaller dials set behind the cathedral-style second-minute hands. The substantial, 12.5 mm-thick reeded edge is reminiscent of the mechanical movement of watch gears. “1 Kilo fine silver” and “Switzerland” are also inscribed.
The reverse is reminiscent of the inner mechanisms of a traditional watch. Argor-Heraeus and its logo comprises a large circle in the center, as well as a smaller circle on the left-hand side. “Fineness 999.9” is also inscribed.
This fine silver round is presented in a protective capsule within a beautiful, wooden keepsake box. “Tempus Fugit” (time flies), “Argentum Manet” (silver remains), “Made in Switzerland” and The Argor Heraeus brand are etched on the box’s lid with a timepiece motif. The box contains two drawers: The top drawer safely houses the silver round, and the bottom drawer stores its corresponding serial-numbered certificate of authenticity.
Each Silver Watch round is manufactured by Swiss refiner Argor-Heraeus, one of the oldest precious metals producers in the world. The company was first established as Argor SA Refinery in Switzerland in 1951, but adopted the name Argor-Heraeus in 1986 after forming a partnership between Swiss banking giant UBS and the Heraeus Group. Today, the conglomerate also includes the Austrian Mint and Commerzbank, a large German Bank which has a long-standing collaboration with the Mint. Argor-Heraeus continues to produce some of the most highly-invested Gold bullion products in the world today.
