Indigenous to East Australia, the modern kangaroo population numbers over 34 million, and the swift-bounding marsupials have long been one of the most famous symbols of Australia’s unique wildlife. They’re the focus of attention for one of the most famous bullion coin series on the collectors’ market, the Kangaroo coin from the world-renowned Perth Mint. Struck with extraordinary quality and detail and sporting an advanced authentication feature, the annual issues of the platinum Kangaroo coin are a consistent favorite with collectors and investors. Provident Metals is ready to help you add the Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Platinum Coin to your collection today.

Highlights:

  • Delivered in a protective plastic sleeve!
  • Issued in multiple years by the Pert Mint!
  • Drawn from limited original mintages!
  • Each piece contains 1 Troy oz of .9995 pure platinum.
  • Legal Australian tender with a face value of 100 Dollars.
  • Obverse fields feature an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Reverse fields feature Stuart Devlin’s famous “red kangaroo” design.
  • Purchases of more than one coin may yield multiple random dates of issue.

The Provident Metals team delivers the Australian Kangaroo Platinum Coin individually packaged in a protective plastic sleeve and fully insures your shipment against any possibility of loss or damage. A tiny letter engraved by a micro-laser appears on its surface, visible under high magnification for those who want to confirm the coin’s authenticity. Orders of more than one coin may come as a variety of possible random dates.

Obverse

The obverse fields of these coins feature Jody Clark’s “Sixth Portrait” effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II, verifying them as legal tender of Australia. Her portrait is accompanied miniature inscription “JC” and by the lettering “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” and “100 DOLLARS” at the rim.

Reverse

A consistent design of a kangaroo bounding across its home plains habitat appears on these coins’ reverse field, the famous “red kangaroo” design created by Stuart Devlin. The image appears along with each coin’s year of issue and the lettering “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO” and “1 OZ 9995 PLATINUM.”

History

Founded in 1899 as the third Australian branch of the British Royal Mint, the Perth Mint came under the control of the Government of Western Australia in 1970. Under an agreement with the Commonwealth Treaty, they were allowed to begin striking high-quality bullion coins soon thereafter and went on to become of the most elite and globally-recognized mints, whose gold, silver, and platinum pieces are accepted without question by dealers all over the world. Known for their classic design, advanced minting technology, and overall commitment to excellence, the Perth Mint’s limited-edition annual release bullion coins are some of the most popular pieces of their kind on the collectors’ market.
