Obverse

On the obverse of each Australian Victory in the Pacific 1/10 oz Gold Coin, youll see the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. She has been the Queen of England since 1952, and she is the longest-reigning monarch of England. The current coin design is the fourth-generation portrait of the Queen; it was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley.

Reverse

The reverse of each of these coins displays the flags of both the United States and Australia. In the center of the coin, you will see a bald eagle flying with an olive branch in its talons. Both of the flags used on this coin represent Allied troops during World War II.

History

World War II is a notable point in history for many different countries around the world. Japan was succeeding in the war until the United States stepped in to help Great Britain and Australia in the Pacific. The United States entered the war after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in December of 1941. The troops helped Australia push the Japanese back to defend their homeland. In the end, the Allied troops won the war.
