First issued in 1986, the American Eagle Gold coin is the official gold bullion coin of the US. They were initially struck in 4 different weights and available in bullion and proof versions. The burnished versions were issued in 2006. The US government guarantees the content, weight, and purity of the coins. Currently, Provident Metals has Burnished American Eagle 1 oz Gold coins available for purchase.

The Burnished American Eagle Gold coins offered through Provident Metals boast a Specimen 70 (SP70) certification from either the PCGS or the NGC. To be given this level of certification, the coins must be perfect as minted they have no trace of wear, handling, scratches, or contact with other coins.

Also, the Burnished Gold coins offered through Provident are from random years. The year of mintage that you receive will depend upon availability since the coins selected to fulfill your order are done so only after your payment clears. We cannot guarantee date marks available at any given time and cannot guarantee a specific year. If you purchase more than one coin, you may receive coins with matching date marks. The actual coin(s) you receive could also possibly come with additional labels, for example, Early Release, First Strike, or First Day of Issue.

Obverse

The Burnished American Eagle Gold coin obverse features the full-length figure of Lady Liberty created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in the early 1900s, which initially appeared on the Double Eagle ($20) coins through 1933. She is walking straight towards you. In her outstretched right hand is a torch and in her left is an olive branch. Lady Libertys hair is free-flowing in the breeze. Near the bottom edge of the coin, to the left of her right foot, is a depiction of the Capitol building. Inscriptions included are LIBERTY and the year. It also has the W mint mark.

Reverse

The Burnished American Eagle Gold coin reverse features the eagle family created by Miley Busiek and sculpted by Sherl J. Winter. Symbolizing the importance of family in America, the male eagle is in flight, holding an olive branch, headed towards the nest occupied by an eagle family. Inscriptions included are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1 OZ. FINE GOLD, and 50 DOLLARS.

History

The Burnished American Eagle Gold coins were first issued in 2006 2008 in 4 different weights 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz. No burnished coins were issued in 2009 or 2010 as the program was suspended. Production of the burnished coins resumed in 2011 present, however, only in the 1 ounce weight. The burnished coins are produced only at the West Point Mint and carry the W mint mark.

How Does Free Shipping Work?

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.

When will my order ship?

Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.

Can I choose the method of shipping?

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.

Will I need to sign for my package?

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.

What about International Orders?

Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
