Canadian Wildlife Series
The Royal Canadian Mint has cemented its reputation for producing some of the purest bullion coins on earth with the Canadian Silver Wildlife Series.
Celebrating Canada’s vast and bountiful wildlife, each Silver Wildlife Coin is composed of 1 troy ounce of .9999 pure silver, backed and guaranteed by the Canadian government.
Launched in September 2010 and issued in extremely limited quantities, the Royal Canadian Mint produced six beautiful designs for the Wildlife Series, all available through Provident Metals:
- 2010 Canadian Wolf
- 2011 Canadian Grizzly
- 2011 Canadian Cougar
- 2012 Canadian Moose
- 2012 Canadian Pronghorn Antelope
- 2013 Canadian Wood Bison
The first four reverse-designs were created by Senior Mint Engraver William Woodruff. The final two installments were designed by science artist, Emily Damstra. Each coin is engraved with the words CANADA 9999 FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR. The obverse of each Silver Wildlife Coin features the image of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by famed portrait artist, Susanna Blunt.
The Monnaie Royale Canadienne (as it is known in French) is the Crown Corporation that issues all of Canada’s circulation coins. It is the world’s only mint to produce .9999 fine commemorative coins, while also striking bullion coins and bars, medallions, and even tokens. The Royal Canadian Mint also provides gold and silver assay services, while running a highly-advanced technical refinery.
