The Chinese Panda Series from the Chinese Mint is one of the most sought-after bullion coins in the world. Introduced in 1982, the hallmark of this series has long been its use of new images of the Giant Panda species on the reverse of the coins each year. If you purchase the Chinese Panda 1/10 oz Gold Coins available in this listing, the items you receive are unsealed from the original Chinese Mint packaging. However, each of the coins is still available with a protective plastic flip. This is a random year listing. This means that your coins are chosen at our discretion based on availability once your payment has been processed. We cannot guarantee a particular date mark or corresponding design. If you buy multiples, please note you could receive coins with the same date marks and designs.

Obverse

On the obverse of the Chinese Panda 1/10 oz Gold Coin is the image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. The largest structure in the Temple of Heaven Complex, the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests has featured on the obverse of Chinese Panda Gold Coins since the series debuted in 1982.

Reverse

The reverse face of Chinese Panda 1/10 oz Gold Coins includes a new image of the Giant Panda species with each date mark. The only repeat use of a design you will find in the series is on the 2001 and 2002 date marks. The 2002 coin reused the same design as 2001.

History

Chinese Panda 1/10 oz Gold Coins debuted in 1982 with the 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz coins. In that first year, it was the smallest coin available. That would change in 1983 with the introduction of the 1/20 oz gold coin. Coins with a date mark from 1982 to 2000 in this weight have a face value of 10 Yuan. Coins issued from 2001 to 2015 have a face value of 50 Yuan.
