Chinese Panda Gold Coins are among the oldest bullion coins in the modern investment market. While the South African Krugerrand Gold Coin launched 1 oz gold coins as a vehicle for private investment, the Chinese Mint was the third to issue a series of gold coins with its 1982 debut of the Chinese Panda. Today, these coins are coveted by investors around the globe. Provident Metals now offers perfect condition Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coins to you for purchase online.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with a protective plastic slab courtesy of the PCGS or NGC!
  • Available since 2016 in Grams!
  • Limited number of certified perfect gold coins available!
  • Contains 3 Grams, or .0965 Troy oz, of .999 pure gold.
  • Issued a face value of 50 Yuan by the government of China.
  • Bears a Grade of Mint State 70 from the Professional Coin Grading Service or Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
  • The obverse includes the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests design.
  • On the reverse are varying images of the Giant Panda.
  • Please note that is possible to receive coins with matching dates and designs when buying more than one.

When you purchase one of these Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coins, Provident Metals has the coin in a protective plastic slab from the grading house. Each coin comes with a Mint State 70 certification that means the specimen showcases full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws of any kind present on the designs or surface areas of the coin.

Obverse

The obverse of Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coins always features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This Taoist religious building was built within the broader Temple of Heaven Complex between 1406 and 1420 in the city of Beijing. Inscriptions include Peoples Republic of China inscribed in Mandarin around the edge, with the date mark in Arabic numerals below the design of the building.

Reverse

On the reverse side of Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coins is a depiction of the Giant Panda. Since the series debuted in 1982, the Chinese Mint has sought to feature new designs of the Giant Panda on the reverse each year. The only exception was the 2002 repeat of the 2001 design. All issues as of 2003 have a new design each year, including the 3 Gram coins issued as of 2016. Inscriptions here include the face value and 3 g Au .999.

History

The Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coin was originally issued by the Chinese Mint as the 1/10 oz gold coin from 1982 to 2015. The shift to 3 Grams resulted in a drop in weight from 3.1103 Grams to an even 3 Grams, and an increase in diameter from 17.95 MM to 18 MM.
