Each of these silver bars is stamped with the mint name, purity, and weight. Additionally, you’ll find a unique serial number on the obverse. Since Engelhard stopped producing silver bullion products in the 1980s, these bars are sourced from the secondary market. You may notice signs of wear like scratches or nicks. Designs may vary and bars may be extruded or poured. Please note that the bar you receive will most likely be a cast product, but minted bars are also possible. Please bear in mind that silver can tone with time as a result of natural oxidation. This will not impact the value of the silver.
The Engelhard Corporation was established in the early twentieth century and quickly became the world’s largest refiner of precious metals. In 2006, the company was purchased by BASF. The long history of Engelhard silver bullion products has led to high desirability in the marketplace. The name Engelhard is well recognized among coin and bullion enthusiasts.
Each bar is carefully packaged before being shipped. They will come in original plastic when available.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.

I am aware that it states that "You may notice signs of wear like scratches or nicks" but the bar I received is filled with scratches. nicks and grinding marks. If you are looking for a nice looking piece of silver I wouldn't buy this one."

It’s an Engelhard – what else can you say? The standard by which all other bars are measured. Bought two of them. First one was pretty beat up looking as if it has seen quite a few stacks. Second one though was a huge surprise – more of a poured loaf old school style which I love. It’s like someone who put together the order at Provident picked their worst Engelhard and their best one for my order. Not complaining as the poured one is just awesome. Provident process was flawless – none better.
