Gold Bar Designs

There are two main types of gold bar designs from Sunshine Minting. Their standard minted ingot features the identifying marks on the obverse. This includes the Sunshine Minting logo, metal purity, metal content, and a unique serial number. The reverse features a repeating pattern design along with the MintMark SI.

Another option is the Mercury Bar. These bars feature the image of the Roman god, Mercury, on the obverse. Mercury is seen with his winged cap, and staff, about to run. The reverse shows identifying marks of the bar.

Both options arrive in sealed blisterpacks and are made with a purity of .9999 pure gold.

MintMark SI

Many gold bars from Sunshine Minting will have the unique MintMark SI on the reverse. This MintMark SI is a unique security feature to easily validate if your gold bar is a legitimate Sunshine Minting gold bar. Using a Sunshine Decoder Lens, when looking at the circle on the reverse, the word “VALID” will appear.
