Certified Pre-33 Gold Coins
Provident Metals is pleased to offer a wide variety of Certified Pre-33 US Gold Coins. Each of these beautiful gold coins consists of at least 90% fine gold, and was manufactured by the US Mint prior to 1933 when gold was commonly used as standard US currency. Each coins has been sonically sealed in a plastic slab with a label that clearly indicates the coin denomination, the year of mintage, and the certified mint state.
In 1933, during the Great Depression, President Roosevelt ordered US citizens to relinquish their gold coins in exchange for other currency with the hope that this would end the depression. For the next 40 years, US citizens were unable to purchase gold. Consequently, pre-1933 gold coins have significant numismatic and historical value.
Provident Metals’ holdings of certified pre-33 gold coins includes the $20 Gold Liberty Double Eagle, $20 Gold Saint Gaudens, $10 Gold Liberty Eagles, $10 Gold Indians, $5 Indian Gold Eagles, and $2.50 Gold Liberty Quarter Eagles.
