Obverse
Explore the obverse side of Libertad 1 oz Silver Coin to witness Libertad atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column. The original design offers a focused view, while the modern design widens the perspective, featuring the majestic Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl mountains in the background.
Reverse
On the reverse, the Mexican Libertad Silver Coins present the Mexican coat of arms at the center. The original design highlights only the national seal a Mexican golden eagle on a prickly pear cactus with a serpent in its beak. The modern reverse surrounds this iconic design with 10 historic depictions of the seal, dating back to the 16th century and the Aztec’s Codex Mendoza.
History
Evolving over time, the 1 oz Silver Libertads boast two obverse and two reverse designs. The modern left-profile effigy of Libertad in three-quarter relief, introduced in 1996, replaced the front-facing effigy from 1982 to 1995. The obverse design also underwent a transition, featuring a simple, classic depiction of the national seal (1982-1999) before embracing a contemporary representation in 2000, encircled by 10 historic versions of the Mexican coat of arms.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. A very beautiful coin in it's own way. Just like I love the beauty of the ASE. But I didn't have any Libertad's in my 'stack'...and now I do. And I plan on getting more in the future-if they come back into stock, lol. Thanks to all at Provident!!!"

I bought four. The1982s that had alot of bag marks. The one 1988 was a nice coin.

They came in like described, but had this yellow residue you can’t see on the coin, but it got all over my latex gloves.
Like these, gonna buy 15 more for a roll of 20 in the near future.

I have ordered four rolls of Libertads from four different vendors, in each case I recieved solid date rolls. I had read the reviews here and decided to order a roll to try for a variety of dates. I ended up recieving a roll of 1982 Libertads, the coins are Brilliant Uncirculated, very few marks, and everyone is bright white. I didn’t recieve a variety of dates but couldn’t be happier with what I recieved.

I was making a silver purchase so I thought I would take a chance and pick up a couple of Libertad’s for my collection.
I received a 1999 and a 2005, both in perfect condition. I was kind of worried that they might be a little scuffed but Provident came through again with flying colors with a pair of coins that truly look in BU condition.

Of all the Silver Maples, American Eagles, Kooks, Wildlife Series, Pandas, Phils, Koalas, Brittanias, etc, these Mexican Libertads are the scruffiest of the lot. Like Mexico itself, I suppose, compared to the US, Canada, Australia, Austria, England, etc. . (actually, I guess the gorgeous Chinese Panda doesn’t fit this model, but anyway …). That’s not a problem, since I was buying for (a) bullion, and (b) variety, so I got both. The coins seem uncirculated, but lots of bag marks, some tarnish (1983 year), and the Mexican mint seems to have used the roughest blanks in the first place. Not proof, not nice satin finish like many other countries, etc. But, they have “character”, and that’s fine. :-)

I received 3 of these and they are Excellent! Two of them had a few scuff marks
that looked like they had been caused by contact with other coins which was very minor and they still look very nice. The 3rd one looks almost perfect. I was surprised to see that. Provident Metals proves again they are a leader in the industry.
This is my first Mexican silver coin and I really like it. It is both smaller in diameter and thicker than my other silver. The little round hard plastic case I put it in won’t close because this Libertad is so thick. I will enjoy the variety it brings to my collection. As always, PM was an excellent seller.

What I love about this coin is that it has an old feel, even though they’re fairly recent. The etched writing on the edge puts it in a class all by itself.

I received these libertads this week and was well pleased. They are exactly as described in the photo. Although I prefer the look of the angel type II of the newer libertads, it is nice to have some type I angels in the collection. Recommended.
