The 2.50 Peso Mexican Gold Coin was first minted in 1918 by the Banco de Mxico and produced for 30 years. Please note that these coins are offered in varied years and conditions. While Provident Metals cannot provide specific details prior to shipping, all coins are guaranteed authentic.
Highlights:
Each 2.50 Peso Mexican Gold Coin is packaged in a protective plastic flip for delivery. Each coin is made from .0603 Troy oz of gold with a fineness of .900, making them compact yet valuable. Measuring 15.5 mm in diameter and 9 mm in thickness, these coins are a great option for collectors and investors.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2.50 Peso Mexican Gold Coin is a portrait of Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a leader of Mexicos independence movement. His profile is skillfully detailed, with inscriptions below the portrait noting the denomination “Dos y Medio Pesos” and the year of issue. Inscriptions here include DOS Y MEDIO PESOS and the year of issue.
Reverse
The reverse side of the coin features Mexico’s official Coat of Arms. This emblem shows a golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus with a serpent in its beak and talons. The design is inspired by an ancient legend about the founding of Mexico City and represents the triumph of good over evil. Encircling the image is the inscription “Estados Unidos Mexicanos.”

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.

"I am not disappointed, just not impressed. For a 1945 restrike I would have expected better quality. Its not rare. It does meet the criteria of the description but does not exceed it. I still think Provident is a great provider of not so common bullion. Would buy again."

I like the 2.5 peso for the low premium. I can’t say that the design on the coin is very attractive, as compared to the old Euro small gold, but for folks on a limited PM budget, they are a very economical way to consistently keep adding to the stack!
