I just received this coin and it was far more beautiful than expected. For years I had built up a skeptical wall regarding these coins preferring only American gold. Thankfully, I’m no longer so ignorant and believe coins from other countries can be exceptional. Thank you Provident for broadening my horizons and freeing me from deplorably provincial bullion investing!

Have to agree with Bret above, almost don’t want this advertised publicly, but at the price for 1.2+ ozt of gold these are not only nice to look at but well priced to boot. Mine came in a condition on par with AU+ Double Eagles also purchased from Provident. Only wish some 20 pesos would come available.

I am torn writing this review, as I wouldn’t want these to become so popular they wouldn’t be the great deal they are now! These are the most impressive gold coin available, in my opinion. Beautiful, and exactly as advertised!!!

Just received my 50 peso gold piece, a 1947 restrike. It is in amazing condition, at least Uncirculated. The shipping was prompt and the product quality is above expectation! Provident will continue to be my go-to precious metals resource.

Bought a few of these, from Provident , just before the spike. An excellent decision! Nicest ones came from Provident, my dealer of choice above all others whenever I encounter similar pricing for like conditioned coins. I’m not sure why other buyers apparently don’t see the value of Mexican gold? So far, it seems always available for purchase, and has one of the lowest premium mark ups of any gold products.

Just got another pair of these baby’s in the mail using my

What? people are put off by it costing a lot more than ounce coins? But this is 1.2 ounces! I do not care about tarnish or blemish, I am not in it as a collector it’s a Big ol hunka well accepted/ easy to liquidate gold with a reltively low premium! Heck, what’s not to like??

Beautiful gold coin commemorative of Mexico’s Independence from Spain. Just received in the mail another 4 coins, I’m a happy stacker.

I try to purchase one of these every month when I can. The last three months I have been pleasantly surprised to receive an “other than 1947” date. Ive gotten two 1927’s and a 1944. Although they have the same gold content as the 1947 restrikes, they seem to have a slightly darker gold surface to them. I’m a satisfied customer. I’ve become very comfortable using Provident. I do shop around but rarely find a better deal when you factor in the free shipping.

Just bought another Centenario on the dip, and was expecting another common 1947 restrike date. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I cut open the package and found a 1929 coin! At only 458,000 minted, this baby is about 85% rarer than the very common 1947 date. Beautiful condition, at least AU (very few scratches or handling marks, with Winged Victory’s face in perfect condition), with a lovely rose-gold color tone my later one lacks. Another home run for Provident! You simply can’t buy gold at a lower premium than a Centenario.

Just got three of them, each 1947, and with the feel in my hand as I held them I will not soon forget. Thanks Provident for this great product.

Just take every review you’ve read here on how gorgeous these coins are … and believe every word. NOT what you would expect for $40-50 over spot! The one I got is easily MS-65 or better, beautiful BU with brilliant yellow gold luster and scant few scratches or handling marks. It is definitely a hefty coin, almost the size of an ASE but heavier – nice feel in the hand. I would beg to differ on it being the most beautiful coin ever – the obverse is clearly derivative of the St Gaudens $20 Double Eagle, but a bit gauche and not quite as finely executed – but it is still quite lovely. For investing in gold in ounce-and-larger quantities, the value of the Centenario cannot be beat. And don’t forget – although the Centenario was technically a circulation coin, it has its gold content (37.5 grams) stamped on it, making it easier to sell or trade if or when needed. Take advantage of falling prices and hedge your bets with the Centenario today.

The premium over spot on this beauty is one of the smallest, if not THE smallest of ANY gold coin. Few, if any bars can even match the low premium of this one. And what can one expect from the lowest priced gold product on the market? You wouldn’t think much, but the reality is that this is also arguably the most beautiful gold coin on the market—at any price! (OK, the Perth Mint lunar series–especially the Year of the Horse design is right up there in the beauty contest–but certainly not in terms of price!). It has a very high relief and the detail of the artwork is exquisite. The other nice and very interesting feature of this classic coin is that as far as I know, it is the only non-bullion “regular” coin (except for the 20 Peso–another exceptional bargain) that has the gold content stamped on it. The 100 Corona from Austria is another good-looking non-bullion coin with a very small premium, but it doesn’t have the gold content stamped on it, which could potentially cause hassle when it comes to sell.

I think this may be my only way to buy gold moving forward. Great low premium over spot. Hefty coin with history. Provident buy back price is very close to their sell price. Great piece of mind. Go Provident!

I just pulled this coin out of the well packaged Provident box and I am about to order more. I have always been a huge fan of the double eagles and the new Maples but this coin is just awesome. Great craftsmanship and the best looking ridges on any coin I have ever seen. Not as golden as my Maples and not as dull as my Krugers, but has a nice gold sheen to it – you instantly know what it is.

This is a beautiful coin! A real wall hanger. If you don’t own one yet, you should save up enough until you can buy one. I hope to have about 5 of these in my collection in the next two years. It arrived in timely fashion and was well packaged.

I saved up a long time for this one and it was worth it. Not only did Provident package my order well, but sent me a coin in brilliant uncirculated condition even though it was over 60 years old and the description said XF. This is one of the most beautiful coins ever made and a real piece of history. I highly buying one of these and getting it from Provident.

I never had a gold coin this big. After shining it up a little bit, I fell in love. Just for anyone interested, it is about the size of a silver dollar. That’s all I have to say about that.

I have a very big collection of coins and the Mexican Gold 50 Peso is my favorite I now own 9 of them and hopefully will be able to aquire more for my collection soon!!!

The coin does feel a lot heavier only .2 or so more oz, and it looks much more copper colored, it does not really look a gold coin. It is a really good deal with such a low premium.
