Geiger Edelmetalle can be traced back to 1218 when it was founded as the first German silver trade house. Seeing as they are still operational, they are now the oldest silver trading house in Germany. The mint now calls the Schloss Guldengossa their headquarters and is one of the 140+ members of the LBMA. Geiger creates some of the more impressive gold and silver bars on the market, and they strike the popular Noah’s Ark Series. Learn more about Geiger Edelmetalle right here, at Provident Metals.
The Noah’s Ark Series debuted in 2011. These .999 silver coins are issued in sizes ranging from 5 kilograms to 1/4 Troy oz. 99.99% gold coins were issued as proof strikes for one year only in 2017. In 2020, these same 4 sizes (ranging from 1 oz to 1 gram) were reintroduced as BU coins 2020 and have been issued regularly since.
The design of these coins hasn’t changed since they debuted. The obverse shows the coat of arms of Armenia. The reverse features a depiction of Noah’s Ark floating on water, while a dove is flying at the viewer. In the background, we can see Mount Ararat.
Geiger Edelmetalle is renowned for its square bars. These gold and silver bars are available in sizes ranging from 1 gram (0.03215 Troy oz) to 5,000 grams (160.7537 Troy oz.)
The obverse of these bars showcases the Schloss Guldengossa – which is now the headquarters of Geiger Edelmetalle. The reverse of these bars displays a repeating rhombus pattern. The design has a unique security feature in which the bar’s serial number will be displayed under a blacklight.
The popular German mint is also known for its Security Line bars. These .999 silver bars are also available in sizes as large as 5,000 grams and are known for their array of security features. These include the following – a textured reverse, ribbed edge, serial number, pearl finish on the obverse, and a UV application on the reverse.
