Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars remain two of the most recognizable coins in American history. Together, these silver dollars were produced from the late 19th century through the mid-1930s, covering an important era in US coinage. Each coin in this listing is individually packaged in a protective plastic flip. These pieces are classified as cull condition, meaning they show heavy wear or visible damage. Examples of condition issues may include holes, bending, corrosion, deep scratches, or other surface flaws. Because of their state, these coins are generally not suitable for collectors, but they still contain their full silver weight. Coins are selected at random, so you may receive Morgan Dollars, Peace Dollars, or a mix of both if purchasing multiple pieces.

Designs

The obverse of the Morgan Dollar features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap decorated with cotton and wheat. Thirteen stars surround her profile to honor the original colonies. The reverse of the Morgan Dollar shows a heraldic eagle with wings spread, holding arrows and an olive branch while encircled by a wreath.

The obverse of the Peace Dollar presents a right-facing Liberty with flowing hair and a radiant crown, offering a refreshed look compared to earlier coin designs. The reverse of the Peace Dollar depicts a bald eagle perched on a rock, holding an olive branch. The word PEACE appears below, with rays of sunlight extending upward in the background.

History

The Morgan Silver Dollar was designed by George T. Morgan and first struck in 1878 after federal legislation required large-scale silver purchases. Minting continued through 1904, with a final production year in 1921. Later that same year, the Peace Dollar was introduced to mark the end of World War I. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Dollar was minted from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935, concluding regular silver dollar production for circulation.
