On the obverse face of 1 oz Omnia Silver Rounds, there is the head of a lion in a forward-facing position. The regal lion looks quite majestic and regal with a flowing mane and a crown atop its head. This image is the standard insignia for Scottsdale products. Other obverse details include a decorative edge pattern and inscriptions that read SCOTTSDALE SILVER.

The reverse side of Scottsdale Omnia Silver Rounds features a traditional cob-era cross. If you examine the original cob-era coins, you will find a similar cross pattern on their rough and worn surfaces. The cross here is accompanied by a pair of bands wrapped around its vertical portion. Youll also find a decorative pattern along the rim, plus inscriptions reading 1 TROY OZ SILVER .999% PURE IN OMNIA PARATUS.

The first coins minted in the Americas, the Spanish cob pieces were initially struck as a means of exporting silver deposits from colonial regions back to Spain. Rough-hewn in their appearance, the coins were created by cutting off clumps of silver from existing bars. They were known as cobs, which is derived from the Spanish word cabo, meaning end. This relates to the fact that the coins were literally cut off the end of silver bars.
