The OPM kilo bar is quite nice, and the price is right where I need it to be ($.59 over spot). The matte finish is very nice with a slight industrial look. The description indicates the bars are uniform, but mine is not. It slopes from back to front. It’s not a huge deal but caught me off guard as this is not a poured bar.

This just feels like the bar you should be stacking, it would go great with an old timey safe or treasure chest. It is pretty in it’s ugliness. It had dings and dents from the manufacturing process. Low price.

If you’re collecting to add weight to your stack and cannot afford to buy 100+ ozt to take advantage of the low premiums that come with large volume, this is the bar you should look at.
It has a matte finish and is god looking in an industrial type of way. 32.15 ozt is an odd number for someone looking to keep their stack even, but with the low premiums, I’ll take some fractions in my stack any day.
This is a great way to add weight to your stack and keep premiums low. If you’re paying a higher premium for “prettier” silver, it will only make for a smaller stack in the long run.

These bars are a good buy with a low premium. Premiums are easy to pay, but hard to recoup when you sell, so I’ll stick with OPM. The extruded bars lack the look and feel of a poured bar, but hey, they are so close to spot price I can’t complain.

I now have some of the shiny type of bars, and this brick. I like the dull finish. Think about it, if someone were to try and shave a gram or two off of this think there is no way it could be make to look factory fresh. Mine arrived pretty much flawless. With the minimal markup compared to some of the bling-bars this make a great investment if you care about the material only.

Sure pretty is nice, and the newer OPM extruded bars are a good looking bar. Sandblast finish rather than the cast finish or the 10 OZT bars that have a shiny finish, but in the long run, why are you buying silver? You are buying it to have some silver. A low markup per OZT is what you want. That is what you get in this bar.

These bars look nothing like the picture.
Mine have VERY rough edges, almost like how a plasma cutter would leave slag on a piece of carbon steel. It has a bland, matte finish and random lines all across it the appear to be from production.

Holding one of these bars in your hand is a nice experience. I have bought OPM 10oz bars which have the nice shine but I did not mind the matte finish of this bar. It came with a few scratches and it doesn’t look the prettiest but as others have said my bar weighed in about .3oz heavy so I will trade the extra weight over aesthetics any day. Can’t go wrong with OPM and Provident Metals!

The bar is frosted, it had a little rubbing on its finish. It looks white, might have been bead blasted, It looks great to me, especially setting on my scales. I highly recommend this bar.

I received the newer, extruded type. It’s not quite as pretty or interesting as some coins, but pick one up and you’ll know you’ve got something! The surface looks like it’s bead-blasted; I guess you’d call it a muted luster. The edges are smooth and cleanly finished, unlike some bars I’ve seen. Overall, I’m pleased with the quality and with the service I received from Provident.

This was my second purchase of a kilo OPM bar and I received an extruded bar, after receiving a poured one the first time. It turns out I like them both. I understand why OPM would want to switch production; the new extruded type is very well done and I think it would be more easily bought/sold in the secondhand market than the old poured ones. Although, I’m a sucker for that old poured bar look. Its nice to have one of each!

Frosted surface, bevel edged, no mar-marks, 1 Kilo of silver. Not as visually appealing as a polished bar but the sheer bulk and heft makes this a stunning example of stackable precious metals. Regardless I love the bar, will buy more in the future!

Lower premium on these kilo bars than most 100 ouncers. I was hoping to receive the older poured type versus the new ones. I received all 3 of the new style and the bars had some sort of defect on them. Looks like the picture provident has but someone dripped silver on the finished product. It would not be too bad if the defect was on the bottom or sides, but its only on the face. it is not a packaging/shipping issue, but a Quality control issue from OPM.
I still love ugly silver, and these are a great way to lower cost average.

Provident delivered in the time frame I expected. I was drawn to this product for the low premium and always wanted a larger size bar for variety. It isn’t polished and has some minor flaws but it has good heft to it compared to 10 oz bars and the poured style gives it that old school mojo. I’m glad I went with this instead of ordering an “our choice” bar and taking my chances.

Have a couple of these, one is really shiny while the other is just shiny. Both feel really heavy, like a “bar” should be. The size and weight will no doubt make you feel richer. Not as big a gold bars in movies or bank vaults but truly awesome to hold. Just what you imagine a bar should be. Just wish I could afford more.
