The Pale Horse of Death represents sickness and decay, as indicated by the horse’s sickly, greenish hue. A skeletal figure on an armored horse rides across the round’s obverse. The rider carries a large scythe and wears an hourglass around his neck. The inscription reads “PALE HORSE OF DEATH”, and you will find a privy mark of crossed scythes under the horse’s belly.
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse series has a shared reverse that features four horses rearing up behind a crest containing each of the horsemens’ privy marks. The reverse is inscribed with “THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE,” along with the weight and purity.
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse series of silver and copper rounds is the latest Provident exclusive series. Each of the the four designs have been released sequentially, made available for a limited time only. The Pale Horse of Death is the last design in the series, which caps off with a 10 oz Silver Bar.
The NGC has graded and holdered a limited number of Pale Horse of Death antiqued rounds. Each one is given an individual serialized edge number between 0001 and 2000. A GEM grade falls between 65 and 70 on the Sheldon Coin Grading Scale, which means that the round is in excellent condition. Slabs feature a custom label with the series name, the round’s grade, the NGC logo, and the Four Horsemen shield.
Rounds are individually graded and sealed in a plastic holder by NGC. Each slab ships in a resealable plastic bag. Buy a four-piece display box to showcase your entire collection of graded Four Horsemen rounds.
