In 1921, the United States Mint introduced the final silver dollar coin that would be widely used in circulation in the country. The Peace Dollar Silver Coin made its debut in December 1921 and replaced the final issue of the Morgan Dollar as the last silver dollar coin from the United States. Provident Metals now has certified Peace Dollar Silver Coins available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase one of these Peace Dollar Silver Coins online at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in Mint State 66 condition. Coins with this grade showcase an above-average mint luster with the potential for a maximum of four minor contact marks, a few light hairlines visible only under magnification, and the possibility for one or two light scuff marks.
Provident Metals offers these coins to you at random. Our team cannot guarantee a specific date or label in advance. If you buy several coins, you may get specimens with the same date and labels.
Obverse
The obverse field of the Peace Dollar Silver Coin comes with a left-profile portrait of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1921, this softened image of Liberty includes a crown of light rays with her hair flowing in the breeze. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1921.
Reverse
On the reverse side of Peace Dollar Silver Coins, you will find an American bald eagle. This design shows the eagle with its wings at its side as it sits perched on a branch. Rays of sunshine emanate from the horizon and the field comes with inscriptions that read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and PEACE.
History
Anthony de Francisci created this image of Liberty and the bald eagle in 1921. The first coins were struck in the Peace Dollar Series on December 28, 1921, with the US Mint producing just over one million coins during that time.
