On the obverse of these Canada Silver Dollars, you could see various royal portraits. In 1935, the Canadian Silver Dollar arrived on the scene bearing an effigy of George V to celebrate his 25th anniversary as king. These coins have also featured busts of George VI and Elizabeth II. The obverse also contains the royal title inscription across the border.

The reverse of Canada Silver Dollars features varied designs. Most associate these coins with the standard Voyageur rendition by Canadian artist Emanuel Hahn. This memorable design shows a French-Canadian trader and an indigenous figure traveling one of Canadas rivers in a canoe. In the background, faint lines depict the Northern Lights. Youll also find the year of release on the reverse along with inscriptions reading CANADA, DOLLAR.

The Canadian Silver Dollar was issued for circulation between 1935 and 1967. During this time, several varieties of the coin were minted, including ten unique styles in 1947. The mintage for these coins varies widely depending on their year of release. The lowest mintage was in 1948, with only 18,780 coins issued. The highest mintage was in 1965, with 10,768,569 coins produced.
