The $10 Liberty Eagle coin was one of Americas longest-running coin designs. Its production and circulation crossed from the early 19th century into the first decade of the 20th century. It saw America rise from a fledgling nation clustered on the East Coast to one that engaged in rapid westward expansion, experienced the Mexican-American War, US Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and finally emerged as an international power in the 20th century. Provident Metals now has certified Pre-33 $10 Liberty Eagle Gold Coins available to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a Pre-33 $10 Liberty Eagle Gold Coin through this Provident Metals listing, you will receive a coin that is in certified Mint State 64 condition. Coins in this condition still maintain some average mint luster, at least, and have the potential for flaws ranging from one or two clusters of contact marks, to heavier contact marks and one or two patches of hairlines.
Provident Metals offers these coins with the possibility for various different dates and an MS64 grade that comes from either the PCGS or the NGC. We cannot guarantee the specific dates or labels on these coins. All coins are chosen at random after your payment clears.
Obverse
The obverse of Pre-33 $10 Liberty Eagle Gold Coins comes with an effigy of Lady Liberty. It shows Liberty in left-profile relief with a coronet crown that reads LIBERTY. There is a ring of 13 stars on this side as well as an inscription of the date of issue.
Reverse
On the reverse face of Pre-33 $10 Liberty Eagle Gold Coins is an image of the heraldic eagle of the United States. This design shows a bald eagle in front-facing relief with the US national shield on its chest, and the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in talons. Inscriptions on all coins include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and TEN D. Coins dated 1866 to 1907 have an additional banner with an inscription of IN GOD WE TRUST.
History
The Liberty Head design was first issued when the United States was still a small nation clustered along the East Coast. The national debt had just been wiped away to zero and Andrew Jackson was serving as President of the United States. When the coins were last issued in 1907, Theodore Roosevelt was President of the United States, the nation had fought and succeeded in three wars, two of which were international, and the US Navy was beginning to showcase the power and reach of the American Armed Forces.
