American bald eagles are found on the reverse side of coins in the Pre-33 $20 Liberty and Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle 2-Coin Gold Set. A modified Great Seal of the United States reminiscent of the heraldic eagle is found on the reverse of Liberty Head coins. This design includes inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The national motto features on coins dated 1866-1907, while the face value is TWENTY D. on coins dated 1849-1866 and TWENTY DOLLARS on coins dated 1877-1907.
