From 1796 to 1933, the United States Mint issued gold coins for circulation use. The main coins were those of the US Eagle denomination based on the $10 Eagle gold coin. The smallest of these coins was the Indian Quarter Eagle Gold Coin with a face value of $2.50 (USD). Provident Metals currently has Pre-33 $2.50 Indian Quarter Eagle Gold Coins available to you for purchase online in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

This design was created in 1908 by Bela Lyon Pratt and was struck incuse into the coin. The left-profile portrait of the figure is surrounded by 13 stars with six in front of the face and seven behind the feathered headdress. Inscriptions on this face read Liberty and a date mark.
Reverse

In this peaceful design, the bald eagle is shown resting with its wings at its sides as it sits perched on a sheaf of arrows. The arrows are wrapped in an olive branch of peace and the inscriptions of United States of America, In God We Trust, E Pluribus Unum, and 2 1/2 Dollars.
History
The Indian Quarter Eagle Gold Coin design was introduced in 1908 and produced until 1929, ending four years before the United States abandoned the gold standard and ended the production of all gold currency. The incuse strike of the Indian Quarter Eagle and Half Eagle denominations featured design elements struck sunken into the surface of the coins, while all other American denominations and many modern bullion coins have designs engraved onto the surface of the coins in 3D relief.
