Designed in 1838 by 3rd Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, Christian Gobrecht, the Liberty Head design in the US Eagle Gold Series was the longest-running portrait of Liberty to feature on American coins in the Pre-33 gold era. With the coins issued from 1795 to 1929 in the $5 Half Eagle denomination, the 70-year run of the Liberty Head effigy was unmatched. Right now, you can buy Pre-33 $5 Liberty half Eagle Gold Coins online from Provident Metals.
