Obverse

On the obverse side of Proof Australian Koala 1 Kilo Silver Coins is an image of Queen Elizabeth II. This fifth-generation Australian design was created for the Royal Mint of England in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. It was adopted for Australian coins in 1999 and was in use through 2017 on most coin collections. It depicts the Queen in right-profile relief with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. Inscriptions on this face remain the same and read Elizabeth II, Australia, and 30 Dollars.

Reverse

The Perth Mint features a new image of the koala on this side each year. Inscriptions include the individual date mark, Australian Koala, and 1 Kilo 999 Silver. There is also a P mint mark from the Perth Mint.

History

Most Proof Australian Koala 1 Kilo Silver coins were issued between 2012 and 2017 in this series. The maximum mintage each year was 500 coins, but the 2012 was the only release close to hitting its max at a total of 471 coins sold.
