The American Silver Eagle derives its obverse design from the Walking Liberty Half Dollar of 1916 to 1947. The motif features an image of Lady Liberty striding against the backdrop of a rising sun. The inscription “LIBERTY” appears towards the periphery, while the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” is engraved at the lower right. Each coin’s date is displayed at the bottom.
At the center of the obverse is an outstretched eagle behind a shield. The bird is clutching both arrows and an olive branch, which represents America’s military strength and its desire to maintain peace. Thirteen stars, meant to honor the original American colonies, are engraved above the eagle’s head. The coin’s mintmark appears towards the lower left side. The country of original, weight, and official face value are engraved towards the edge of the reverse.
This is a set of five Proof Silver Eagles, each with a different year. While the exact dates will vary depending on our inventory, you are guaranteed a mix of five unique years. The date range will be between 1986 and 2016. These mini-collections are a fantastic way to add Proof Silver Eagles to your holdings at an attractive low rate. New Proof Silver Eagles are priced by the U.S. Mint at $55 or more. The coins in this set are offered at a much lower rate and have the added benefit of five different years.
You will receive all of the mint packaging that accompanied the coin at the time of issue. Each coin is housed inside a plastic capsule, which is placed inside its original U.S. Mint velvet presentation case. Each coin also comes with a cardboard outer box and a certificate of authenticity.
