Obverse
The obverse of the Republic of Chad Gold Coca-Cola Santa Claus Coin displays the national coat of arms of Chad. The shield includes wavy lines symbolizing the sun and water, traditionally shown in yellow and blue. Supporting the shield are two animals: a heraldic goat on one side and a heraldic lion on the other. Inscriptions include REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD, 999/1000 FINE GOLD, and 3000 FRANCS CFA.
Reverse
On the reverse of the Coca Cola Santa Claus 1/1000 Gold Coins, youll find the image of the Coca-Cola Santa. This version of Santa became famous through advertisements that connected Coca-Cola to holiday gatherings and cheerful winter moments. The campaign was so popular that many believed Coca-Cola invented Santas look, though the company simply enhanced an existing image that became a cultural icon. Inscriptions read COCA-COLA.
History
Coca-Colas advertising in the 1930s helped define the modern look of Santa Claus. Illustrator Haddon Sundblom created the cheerful, red-suited Santa with a white beard who became a lasting symbol of holiday joy. While Santas red outfit existed before, Sundbloms artwork helped make this image the standard around the world.
