The obverse of the Wheat Penny features a portrait of President Abraham Lincoln. “IN GOD WE TRUST” is inscribed, as is the year of issue.
The reverse features two wheat stalks encircling the sides of the coin. Between them lie the inscriptions “ONE CENT” and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” while “E PLURIBUS UNUM” sits above.
The Wheat Penny was designed by Victor D. Brenner and issued by the US Mint from 1909 to 1956, and it has since become a classic 21st century American coin. The obverse was commemorative of the 100th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth. These pennies were made mostly of copper, but steel versions were struck during WWII.
Wheat Pennies come with a few various markings, depending on where and when they were made. A mintmark is sometimes found under the date, with an “S” for San Francisco or a “D” for Denver. The absence of a mintmark means that it was made in Philadelphia.
Due to their numismatic appeal, Wheat Pennies are often valued at several times their face value, or higher for coins in excellent condition. This fact–along with their metal content–makes them a good investment, particularly for investors who enjoy collecting “junk” coins.
Your 500 Wheat Pennies will ship in a sealed bag that weighs over three pounds. Dates will range from 1909 to 1956, though we cannot guarantee any particular variety of these dates.

"
Had hoped for some pre-1940 but received only (499) 40's and 50's...one P mint. Had only (2) 1940S, no 1949S or 1955S coins and a fairly even distribution of the other years. Quality was good, avg. circulated coins with some EF45/XF50's (@20%), best coin was a 1954S "BIE" die error worth a few bucks. Good selection for the price."

"
499 coins and 30 of them had no mint mark. Coins were in a variety of conditions as expected. There was a good mix of dates, but only 3 coins were older than 1940 and one was too worn to discern the full date."

"
Let me say you get what you pay for, so I'm not too disappointed. I ended up trashing almost all the coins and saved but a handfull. Trashed ,, not literally, I'm sure they will become some wire or something someday.
But, almost all the rest of my purchases I have bought from this company have been good. And again, all the rest were all silver." |

"
I had a total of 501 coins consisting of 185 1950's, 313 1940's, 1 1935-p, and 1 1949-d. I was expecting at least a small handful of 1930's. I wasn't completely disappointed because I was able to complete a few rolls that I was running short on. I will still buy a few more bags to see if it gets better. With Providents reputation, my hopes are high for improved lots in future purchases."
