Take a tour through the Underworld with Anubis, the half man/half jackal Egyptian god who meets souls in the afterlife. Anubis is seen on the obverse alongside the “Scales of Justice,” which are used in the “weighing of the heart” ceremony. The ceremony involves weighing the heart of a newly deceased individual against a feather. If the feather outweighs the heart, the deceased moves on to the afterlife; but if the heart outweighs the feather, the heart is devoured by a crocodile and the initiant is sent to the lake of fire. Also seen on the obverse are a mummified falcon, a jar of embalming fluid, and a skull.
The reverse features an Egyptian pyramid reminiscent of those build in the Giza pyramid complex in the outskirts of Cairo. A jackal sits atop a plinth before the pyramid, which has a design featuring a winged sun disc guarded by two serpents. Hieroglyphics fill the field, and the round’s weight and purity rest at the bottom of the round between traditional Egyptian lotus flowers.
Anubis is the second round in Provident’s exclusive Egyptian Gods series of 2 oz ultra high relief silver rounds. The obverse of each round features a different god or historical figure, while the reverse features a pyramid, ancient hieroglyphs, and devices important to the featured god.
Anubis was released with a limited run. A select number of rounds with an antiqued finish and serialized edge were meant to be sent in for grading, but plans changed. Now we’re offering them to you!

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
