2020 marks the 11th year in the America the Beautiful 5 oz Silver Coin series from the United States Mint. Launched in 2010, the series is inspired by the circulation State Quarters program the US Mint debuted in the late 1990s. In the ATB Series, you will find one unique design representing 56 different jurisdictions in the United States to include all 50 states, the nation’s five overseas territories, and the federal district of Washington D.C. As the ATB Series enters 2020, it marks the final time in the program’s schedule that five designs will be released as images number 51 through 55 debut.
To date, each year in the America the Beautiful 5 oz Silver Coin collection has featured five distinctive designs. With just six designs to go entering 2020, this is the last year you will find a full release schedule available as 2021 will feature only one new coin design. Available in 2020 are five designs representing three US states and two overseas territories of the United States: American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The scheduled designs for the 2020 ATB 5 oz Silver Coins include one National Park, one National Preserve, one National Historical Park, one National Historic Site, and one National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve. The scheduled releases in this series start with the American Samoa coin expected in February 2020 and include the Connecticut coin in April 2020, the U.S. Virgin Islands coin in June 2020, the Vermont coin in August 2020, and the Kansas coin in November 2020.

As with the previous releases of the series, the 2020 ATB 5 oz Silver Coins from the United States Mint will be available in two different versions. The bullion version is expected, as always, to have a higher mintage figure, though both coins are generally struck to meet the demand of investors and collectors without fixed mintage caps. The bullion coins ship individually in plastic capsules, in multiples of 10 housed in mint tubes, or in multiples of 100 housed in Monster Boxes with 10 tubes of 10 coins each.
The Burnished ATB 5 oz Silver Coins will also be available. The burnished coins have a matte finish in comparison to the bullion coins and are packaged individually. Each Burnished ATB 5 oz Silver Coin is housed inside of a US Mint presentation case with a Certificate of Authenticity available as well. The Burnished ATB 5 oz Silver coins come from the Philadelphia Mint and feature a “P” mint mark.
