Certification Process and Terminology
Certified Silver Coins are coins that are graded by a professional coin grading service. The two most well-known coin-grading providers are the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).
Coins are received for grading, graded by at least two numismatists on a 1 to 70 scale, then encapsulated and returned to the owner.
With these coins, there is a lot of unique terminology that is used to further categorize these coins. Read more about this terminology at Certified Silver Coins.
