The Great Eagle, the fifth and final design in the Nordic Creatures series, is seen here perched atop the highest bough of the World Tree. He flaps his wings to send wind to the Nine Worlds. A hawk named Vedfolner sits on his head, delivering knowledge across the nine realms. A squirrel named Ratataskr delivers insults between the Great Eagle and Nidhoggr, who lives below at the tree’s roots.
The shared series reverse features Yggdrasil growing from the Well of Urd. Legend tells that the great ash tree is continually exposed to trauma, from Nidhoggr chewing at its roots all the way up to stags munching at its branches. Even so, Yggdrasil attracts creatures from across the Nine Worlds. While the obverse is brilliantly colorized, the reverse has a proof finish.
Designed by Howard David Johnson, this series showcases some of the most well loved creatures from Scandinavian mythology and legend. Each of the five designs come in a proof, antique, and colorized version, with both one ounce and five ounce rounds offered.
Each Great Eagle round comes edge numbered with a signed certificate of authenticity. The round is protected inside a plastic capsule and nestled into a velour-lined coin box.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
