Design

On the obverse of 1 oz Soldier Bullion Series Silver Bars Trigger Ted is featured in full uniform on the battlefield. This WWII hero lies flat on his stomach as he takes careful aim with his rifle. To help bring the image to life, barbed wire and a large billow of smoke are shown in the background. On the left and right side of the bar, a row of three stars is featured. There is also an inscription reading TRIGGER TED. The reverse of the bars features the logo for the Soldier Bullion Series.

History

In the wake of WWII, the synthetic material known as plastic was mass-produced worldwide. Affordable and versatile, plastic became commonplace in vehicles, appliances, utensils, and of course, toys. Roughly two inches tall, these soldiers were sold in sets by Louis Marx and Company in the 1950s, at which point they became a national phenomenon.
