Obverse
The obverse of the 2023 Mexican Libertad Gold Coin showcases the powerful Mexican golden eagle grasping a rattlesnake in its talons and beak. Poised on a prickly pear cactus with laurel leaves beneath, it’s a symbol of strength and resilience. Inscriptions read ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
Flipping the 2023 Libertad 1/4 oz Gold Coin reveals the reverse side, adorned with the graceful figure of Winged Victory. This depiction draws inspiration from the Angel of Independence monument in Mexico City. Victory is seen in a three-quarter side profile amidst a backdrop that features the stunning Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl mountains. Inscriptions include 1/4 ONZA, ORO PURO, OM, and 2023 LEY .999.
History
The story of Mexican Libertad Gold Coins began in 1981, encompassing a range of gold weights, from 1/4 oz to 1 oz. Later, in 1991, smaller fractional ounces joined the lineup. This cherished coin also exists in proof, reverse proof, and even an antique finish introduced in 2018, adding a touch of variety to its allure. While these coins dont have a face value like most other coins, they do have the backing of Banco de Mexico.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
