Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Maple Leaf 1/10 oz Gold Coin features a left-profile bust of His Majesty King Charles III, elegantly attired in a suit. In a departure from tradition, he appears without a crown, maintaining the opposing left-profile orientation. Inscriptions include CHARLES III, 5 DOLLARS, and 2024.
Reverse
Turning to the reverse of 2024 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins, you’ll discover the timeless sugar maple leaf, designed in 1979 by Walter Ott. History
In 1990, the Royal Canadian Mint turned to Canadian artists for depictions of Her Majesty. Notably, Dora de Pederey-Hunt designed the third-generation portrait used from 1990 to 2003, followed by Susanna Blunt’s fourth-generation design used from 2003-2023. Now, King Charles III takes center stage on these coins for the first time ever.
