The $10 Gold Eagle coin was the gold standard of US circulation gold currency for nearly 130 years. Among the first coins ever released from the United States Mint following its founding 1792, the coin went through a variety of designs and variations throughout its history. The longest-running was Liberty. The Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin is available to you online from Provident Metals.

Liberty Coronet was the most popular design in the $10 Gold Eagle Series. This coins debuted with the Turban Head, but would use the Liberty Coronet design from Christian Gobrecht for nearly 60 years before it was replaced by the Indian Head design.
The obverse of Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins includes a left-profile portrait of Liberty. She wears her hair tied loosely back in a bun and wears a coronet crown with the word Liberty inscribed on the crown. There are 13 stars featured around her figure and the date mark is on the bottom.
On the reverse of Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagles is the depiction of the heraldic eagle of the United States. The coins always featured United States of America and Ten D. as the inscriptions on this side. From 1838 to 1866, the coins were produced without the national motto on this side. In late 1866, the US Mint added a ribbon above the eagles head that read In God We Trust.
Gobrecht was a popular designer and engraver at the Philadelphia Mint. He designed silver dollars for the US Mint and these $10 Gold Eagles. The coin was available from 1838 to 1907 with his design before it was replaced. It was one of just three designs to feature on the Gold Eagle, after the Turban Head and before the Indian Head.
These impressive Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins are in Very Fine condition. This means the coins have light to medium wear visible with all major features of the design still sharp.
