Sanders’ design features the protected waterways of the Current and Jack Forks rivers. Behind the waterway is Alley Mill, which was used to convert wheat into flour. Inscriptions along the edges include "OZARK RIVERWAYS," "MISSOURI," "2017," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
Brief History
The Ozark National Scenic Riverways was first created by Congress in 1964 in order to provide preservation for the beautiful landscape and clear waters of the Jacks Fork and Current rivers. The park consists of around 80,000 acres and is primarily used for recreational purposes like kayaking, tubing and canoeing. The park sees over 1.3 million visitors annually.
