Obverse

The obverse face of each of these medals shows the image of Do ggae bi, who is featured on Chiwoo Cheonwangs shield. Do ggae bi is similar to a hobgoblin. The image of Do ggae bi was carried into battle by Cheonwang to strike fear into his enemies. His image is so grotesque, that Koreans once hung his image from their roofs to ward off evil spirits.

Reverse

The reverse side of these medals bears the image of Scrofa standing on the edge of the Salt Lake. On these medals, you will find the image of her ghost standing behind her. This ghost figure makes these medals unique.

History

This series was created to show off 12 designs each with mintage numbers of only 40,000. However, KOMSCO released the Scrofa Ghost Medal as an additional option for both collectors and investors to purchase.
