Obverse

King Leonidas is depicted in the obverse design of Silver Molon Labe Rounds. Leonidas volunteered his force of 300 elite Spartans to be the spearhead in a delaying action against the Persian Army at the hells gates in Thermopylae. He knew in advance that this was a battle he would not likely win, but he was willing to give his life to save the city-states of Greece. In this 10^th design, the battle is turning against Sparta as a severely wounded King Leonidas staggers amidst a field of dead Spartans with countless arrow wounds to his body. The inscription on this side read MOLON LABE.

Reverse

For the reverse field of 1 oz Silver Molon Labe Rounds, the mint offers its logo at the very center.
